Youth Engagement in Santa Rosa

Latino Service Providers is bringing their Youth Promotor Model to the HEAT Action Plan. The goal of the Youth Promotor Internship Program is to meaningfully engage the Latinx community on issues that impact health outcomes in Sonoma County, and inspire the future community health workforce. Passionate about addressing the impacts of extreme heat in their communities, youth in the Promotores Preperados and the Promotores Verdes track are leading the youth engagement portion of the Plan.

These incredible thirteen Southwest Santa Rosa “Climate Impact Innovators” are paving the path for a thriving and heat-resilient future for the community they call home.

Launched in September 2025, through this 9-month course youth participants will engage in skill-building workshops focused on increasing understanding of the science behind extreme heat, the impacts of extreme heat in their local neighborhood, and support the development of the policies and actions for the Plan.
